The below research paper by Moritz Hauer, analyses the current state of environmental mainstreaming in humanitarian assistance, and identifies the main barriers hindering the systematic integration of environmental concerns. With its focus on the WASH Cluster, it includes 12 interviews with various WASH practitioners at different levels.

Moritz holds a Master’s degree in Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation from Lund University. He joined the UN Environment / OCHA Joint Unit as an intern, after which he continued his work for the unit as a consultant.
