The UNECE Industrial Accidents Convention

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Industrial Convention is a regional instrument aiming to protect people and the environment from industrial accidents.

The Convention currently consists of 41 Parties and concentrates its efforts on assisting the members to prevent industrial accidents that can have transboundary effects. It helps members prepare and respond to accidents if they occur.

The Convention also provides tools and guidelines for improving safety measures and strengthening disaster risk management for man-made and technological hazards.
